FC4 text mode video problem

Guys...... I had FC3 working fine....... and it's over...
today I installed FC4... it installed fine......
it boots, show the X login screen..... login & everything's fine (don't know about later..)
the problem comes when I tried to switch to text mode (ctrl+alt+F1 to F6)
I can't see anything, but I'm sure that the text mode login prompt is working....
I blindly logged in, and type commands.... it worked..... but can't see anything..

I tried to switch the default init in /etc/inittab to init 3...
reboot.... and get to text mode fine.... everything's fine in text mode
I tried to get to X (startx) and the display's fine....
once I killed X / logout(to text mode) , I can't see anything again........

I'm using Intel 845 onboard graphics.........
it didn't happen like this on FC3........
I didn't change any hardware.......I didn't set anything else after FC4 install...

I don't know whether it's a general linux problem or FC4 problem
hope someone can help...... thx......

I have an Intel815 chip on my computer. I had the same problem. However, it was corrected after doing a full update of patches. I had some funky colors like pink and yellow. Ugh... Hopefully, this should correct it. I did not see this problem with Core 5.
