FC2: Cannot get RPM to install

Hi,

I am new in FC.

I am having trouble installing a RPM. I was told Anaconda would install it for me. But nothing the computer tells me there is no application associated with *.RPM.

open up terminal...

figure out where the RPM is.. i.e. - /home/user

"cd /home/user"

from there you can "rpm -Uvh filename.rpm"

That will install it... always use the -Uvh switch instead of -i because -U will upgrade if it is already installed an easlier version or install it if not.. -i will just install the file... so you might have 2 instances of the package... not a good idea...

BTW - you nees to "su -" to root in order to install the RPM...

Why are you running DDR 400 with an Athlon 2000+?? the FSB of the 2000+ is only 266...

you can install rpm packages using command line (ie terminal) by using rpm simple...read

man rpm

for info. there you'll find the commandline switches to install, remove and upgrade the packages... (like rpm -Uvh and so on)
