fat32 partition mount problems on FC6

Im using a fedora core 6, I added this line to the /etc/fstab file:
Code:
/dev/hda6 /home/sharath/fat-e vfat rw,umask=002 0 0
But when I restart, during startup it shows as mounting /dev/hda6 block device failed and its not mounted, However if i manually mount using mount command it works. What could be the problem?

I have / & /home as seperate ext3 partitions.

You need to add the "auto" option to "rw,umask=002". Cant say I,m to well up on options in fstab but I think adding "user" would also be a good idea.
Cheers,
Stan

Mine was set up by Fedora during install, I named the mount point /mnt/win, here is what my fstab entry for it looks like:

Code:
/dev/sda4 /mnt/win vfat defaults 0 0
EDIT: It was a pre-existing partition, I make all my partitions with my boot manager and just tell Fedora which ones to use and for what.

Thanx Junior Hacker, that helped, I found out its particularly not mounting if the destination directory is inside my /home dir, but it works after i changed the path to /fat-e
