i have fedora core 3 on my system..

256 MB RAM
i find that fedora core 3 hangs when i run yum or real player together(and also many more) and have to rebot.
how can i speed up?which processes should i remove and how???
(i m not very particular abt the gui i.e. its ok if it doesnt look good.)

Ram

I don't really understand why it would run that slow, but you probably could use some more ram. At 256 your at the bottom of having enough to do the kind of multimedia thats giving you trouble. If I were you I'de try to get more RAM. I run mandriva (even more bloated than fedora I think) on a 2 GHZ (Intel Pentium M) laptop w/ 512 mg RAM and it runs real nice.
