Dial-up connection issues with Fedora

1. I installed a new PCI modem and kudzu detected it. I hit the 'configure' button, and nothing else happened (the system just kept on booting like normal).

2. I ran the redhat-config-network-druid program. I added my dial-up ISP information, and I used /dev/modem for the modem.

3. I click to 'Activate' the connection, and I get a pop-up message 'Error 2'.

Anyone know what the problem is? How can I get dial-up conneciton working with Fedora? Thanks.

Haha, this is almost EXACTLY like the problem i'm having. Everything except the "Error 2". Try changing the device, /dev/modem isn't always gauranteed to work. It's always best to chose the device it's actually hooked into.

Is it a "Win-modem" - did you install any "drivers" for it.
