core2 install problem

Well I tried to install fedora core 2 but I get this error:

Uncompressing Linux...
ran out of input data
--System halted

and then nothing.
i did google all that and after some research i saw that this error msg is displayed when "LILO has tried to load a kernel no longer available (a new kernel has been installed in the meantime)" according to suse.

but the thing is that i have never installed linux on this machine except running it from a suse live cd.

can anyone help?
