console text mode shows fedora core 5 but fc6 installed
hello,
i was surprised when last time i need text console mode from ctrl-alt+1
and it shows Fedora Core 5 text login!, but ... i think i am using fc 6 ...
[admin@darkstar ~]$ uname -a

Why my systems shows fedora core 5 text message in text console ?

I suspect you are not doing anything wrong, but that a mistake was made in FC6.
If you want to look into this further, I can give you some information based on the old RH releases. I cannot guarantee that FC does things the same way. If you have a file called /etc/issue, take a look at it. This is what used to get printed out before a text login prompt. On the old RH systems, this file was generated at boot time by the /etc/rc.d/rc.local script. So if you feel like it, poke around and see what you can find.
