Question Cannot mount my drives?

This is the first time i've ever posted anything, so i don't now how i could possible post 4 billion in one day, i registered when i tried to install Fedora 9 and needed help.

Yesterday by chance i pressed ESC during a boot up and there it was, Fedora booting up.

I'm not even sure how i got the GURU status as i can ensure you i am no GURU when it comes to LINUX, Windows and Leopard maybe in a couple of years but as i said i'm new!

When i opened My Computer i can view all my other drives but can't access them due to Authentication required. Of which only a "Super user" can access?

Furthermore, i'm connected to my network, that wasn't rocket science, but creating another connection (PPPOE) i'm finding difficulty and therefore ask for help.

I'm not trying to prove anything, i just thought that out there someone had experieced the same problem and would be so kind to help?

Do not use Fedora 9 anymore I am back to Fedora 8
Out of my mind when you click on a drive it should come with pop up window asking for root password and then you can access it .The reason might be because if you have more than one drive it show all the drives and all the partitions
And after this you can read and write on all the partitions , not something for a general user
