Question Bad webfonts in Mozilla 1.7 on FC 2 FINAL

I'm running FC 2 FINAL with the latest kernel from Fedora (2.6.6-1.435). A few days ago I installed the new mozilla (1.7). Before doing that I completely removed mozilla 1.6 which came with FC 2 FINAL and backed my stuff before doing it (address book etc.) and now the fonts look like crap in mozilla. I can't understand why , I have already installed the corefonts from sourceforge. Everything looked beautiful in mozilla 1.6 and it still does in Konqueror but in mozilla 1.7 everything is shot to hell. Anybody got and explanation or an idea?

Kind Regards

Yes I did. I removed the Mozilla 1.7 and installed the rpms that are on the ftp.mozilla.org page.

You need a mozilla version compiled with xft support to get the beautifull fonts you're talking about

new try

Hello,

After I installed the rpm is was not satisfied with the result.

I took the source and ran ./configure --enable-xfs than make all and make install.

Took half a day compiling but hte result is fantastic. Better than IE now and before it was a pain in the ass.

Thanks.

All is easyy once you know it but the lead to -xfs did it for me.
