ati dual head in core2

i'm utterly stumped by this one. ive got Core2 successfully installed, and got the ati fglxr installed correctly with the fedora patch and all that. i'm in big desktop mode so i have a 3200x1200 workspace, and heres the problem i'm at now..

anything that tries to display is like .. offcenter, for lack of a better word. like, if i run glxgears the window is just black, but if i resize the window i find that its just being drawn like to the left of where it should be. chromium for instance the window is all black except for the leftmost inch which is what supposed to be the right edge of the game.

thats kinda hard to explain, but i think that does it. any ideas? this is a brandspanking new full core2 installed and the fglrx is all ive changed on it.
