Dual Head 8500 ATI

For a while I've been trying to set up my 8500 LE, for dual head or Big Desktop mode.

Where I believe the problem lies in is that a pci scan only finds one device... and no secondary device

I get the following

0000:02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R200 QL [Radeon 8500 LE] (prog-if 00 [VGA])
Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R200 QL [Radeon 8500 LE]
Flags: bus master, stepping, 66Mhz, medium devsel, latency 255, IRQ 19
Memory at e0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable)
I/O ports at a000 [size=256]
Memory at ea020000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [58] AGP version 2.0

I'm guessing I should see in addition something like

00000:02:01.0 ATI 8500 (Secondary device)

Could someone verify this, or perhaps my problem lies somewhere else...

In windoze, dual head mode works fine, so I know the card is capable...

In my Xorg log I get this, even though my S-video has a connection to it..

(II) fglrx(0): Primary head:

Monitor -- NONE
Connector -- None
DAC Type -- Unknown
TMDS Type -- NONE
DDC Type -- NONE

(II) fglrx(0): Secondary head:
Monitor -- CRT
Connector -- VGA
DAC Type -- Primary
TMDS Type -- NONE
DDC Type -- VGA_DDC

When my computer boots up, it is in clone mode...both displays are active... When I go to X my tvout display blanks...

When I leave X, and go back to console.... my tvout comes back... the sync is wrong... it shows 4 smalls screens of console rather than 1 regular 1.

Any help, comments appreciated

Thanks

Gary
