I have just upgraded to FC6 (fresh install) on my Athlon 2500+ XP with 1 GB RAM and a Radeon 9600XT video card (256 MB). I decided to go with KDE and I have gotten compiz and beryl working with AIGLX (working smoothly) but when the effects are turned on then scrolling in firefox and konqueror becomes extremely slow and clunky (especially when the windows are maximized, running 1600x1200 resolution). I takes forever to go down a page. I am aware of that these 3d effects need extra power from the graphic card but do the need that much? Is my machine to slow to run compiz/beryl with AIGLX? Should I use XGL instead? If so how do I get it working under KDE with beryl/compiz?
