Who shows old logins
Hi All,
I installed Debian sarge with 2.6.x kernel and use the gnome terminal. I notice that sometimes the w or who commands show old logins by me even though I logged out:
who
mchugh24 :0 Jun 29 22:01
mchugh24 pts/2 Jun 29 23:23 (:0.0)
mchugh24 pts/5 Jun 30 14:13 (work.ipaddress.com)
The second loggin is showing up even though I logged out. The command whowatch (which is very cool) shows:
(gdm) mchugh24 :0 -
can't access mchugh24 pts/2 :0.0 -
(sshd) mchugh24 pts/5 work.ipaddress.com
If I select the second enty it says:
can't access mchugh24 pts/2 :0.0
User logged out
Any idea why this is still showing up in w and who? Sometimes they add up and who shows 5 or 6 users when there should be two at the most. I never had this problem with mandrake 9.1 and the 2.4.x kernel. I am still learning the Debian way so I don't have a clue.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
mcq
