usb drivers

phani-system:/home/phani/Desktop# pon dsl-provider
/usr/sbin/pppd: In file /etc/ppp/peers/dsl-provider: unrecognized option 'eth0'

phani-system:/home/phani/Desktop#pppoeconf
Sorry, no working ethernet card could be found. If you do have
an interface card which was not autodetected so far, you
probably wish to load the driver manually using the modconf
utility. Run modconf now?

There is a same problem in XP.

I dont know what is the problem with my ethernet, then i tried usb connection
which worked in XP(i could find drivers in XP).
Please any one help me finding the usb drivers in linux.

modem model:UT300R2U MODEM co.:UTSTARCOM

and more-over please tell me the problem with my ethernet.

From a websearch, I found the following forum thread at this site here.

After connecting the modem to the Ethernet port and switching it on the modem configuration is done by typing http://192.168.1.1/ in the browser and entering Username: admin and Password: admin in the pop up box. The WAN configuration (value for VPI/VCI) is to be done as per values given by the ISP. You have to input your Userid and password as given by the ISP.

After completing the configuration you have to click on save and reboot and the modem is set for Internet access. It is very simple.
