Question Upgrade Issues.

I am upgrading from Woody to the testing version. Before the upgrade as adviced, I did:
"apt-get install dpkg apt debconf"

The following error messages were got at the end of this process:

Setting up synaptic (0.53.4-6) ...
error : Resource temporarily unavailable
/usr/share/gnome/help/synaptic/C/synaptic.xml:9: I/O warning : failed to load external entity "http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.1.2/docbookx.dtd"

Make sure you are not running two instances of apt or synaptic at the same time as running one will lock up the resource file.

The above helped. Thanks.

How do I do a Distro Upgrade with the new Synaptic ? I don't see a
distro upgrade button in any of the menus or
options. For now I am doing the upgrade with apt.

However, I would like to do the distro upgrade with
synaptic.

Also, Synaptic is working only as root. To be online for a major distro upgrade as root is a concern.
How can one setup Synaptic to work as user as well ?

Please Assist.

Thanks.

Vijay
