Upgrade from Sarge to Sid

I have recently installed Debian, and I love the flexability. It has the power of slackware, with the awsomeness of Apt. I always loved Debian, as I was a former Ubuntu fan, but didn't like Ubuntu's ease. I wanted power over my system.

I dumped Ubuntu and used my old netinst CD that I couldn't get to install before and got it working, and installed XFCE4.

I realized after I installed that I wanted Sid. Is there a way to upgrade without unintalling the system?

Recommendation: Forget it. Upgrading from Sarge to Sid will probably break things majorly. Even an upgrade from Sarge to Etch is iffy because of the transition from Xfree86 to Xorg. You've seen how easy Debian is to install. It gets much easier with the Etch Beta3 installer. Get the netinstal .iso (about 100MB), and do a fresh install of only what you want via ethernet. Coming from Ubuntu, you may prefer the GUI installer. Look for instructions to get to it from the initial boot screen. I've never used it myself, but folks are raving over it.

Or wait until etch becomes closer to stable. The issues will be resolved the closer the etch release date hits.

(But I recomend following Rickh advice. I have happily lived in SID for years.)
