Morning all,
Having some challenges getting email set up correctly on one of my hosts.
here is what I get in the mail.info log:
from=<hostname@emailaddress@gmail.com>, size=466, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
to=<user@hostname@gmail.com>, relay=gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[172.253.122.27]:25,
where user keiword was substituted for the real username and hostname for the real hostname.
I have a script set up to E-Mail me the WAN IP address when the ISP re-shuffles the addresses (no I cannot get a static IP).
The script is executed by CRON at 10 min past midnight every night, but for some reason the user name of the account in where the shell script lives in is tagged onto the to line, causing gmail to reject the message.
I checked the hosts and it is set to the correct hostname, but I did something that caused this to happen at some point, but cannot figure out what.
Here is the content of the mail line in the script
mail -s "Hillsborough IP Address is: $IP"
emailaddress@gmail.com <<< "Hillsborough IP: $IP Changed on: $MYDATE "
Any pointers as to what I may have changed inadvertently to cause this event?
Thanks
