startx command not found


Hi,

I just installed debian.I used apt-get to install fluxbox.When you startup debian,you go inmidiatly to a black screen with some text,the terminal.There,when I type startx,it says command not found.How do I startx fluxbox then?

Well firstly you need to install the X Packages. It doesn't sound as though you have.

And how do I do that?Sorry,I'm pretty new to linux and Debian .Thanx for your effort.

as root, type:

apt-get install xserver-xfree86

Then follow the instructions as it goes through the setup.
