allright now i am starting to have horible headaches...

so.. lets sum up by adding some more info. I purchased 2GB more ram and installed on. But now debian only sees the 3 of them. I am running i486 kernel. i tried to run i686 with bigmem enabled but... not running. This time cant get in gdm and here is some log from the first time booted i686 and then the second time booted i486. watch that stops unexpectedly..

none of the logs you said me helped me here...

I think the ram issue and Debian not booting properly are two different issues. As for the ram issue, check your BIOS settings and make sure you have the memory remap feature enabled, then boot with the bigmem (or pae) kernel and check if the problem is solved (in case you can boot into debian).

As for debian not booting properly, check/post /var/log/kern.log and /var/log/dmesg, they may contain clues that allow us to find out what's going on.

allright.. so all of the sudden everything worked. but i really cant guys tell you the solution for sure.

i mean i played around a litle with the kernel, upgraded to bigmem with 1GB memory more and now its just working.
i m thinking that maybe it was some conflict between some packages.

if anyone wants to investigate to more depth ask me so.

thank you

Well, I was going to suggest you blacklist the nouveau driver. But perhaps you already have done it before all this since you are up and running.
