Sarge & PPPD

So, I have an win modem with Contexant chip, and I install driver from source. Modem works fine. But, everytime I try to dial my provider, using any dialer I have installed, pppd crush with some error. In kppp it's usually error 1, in vwdial sometimes 2 or 10.
I run it with kernel 2.6.8, and I also have installed 2.4.27 kernel, which made some problems about soun card.

Some idea what's wrong?
tnx

In kppp connection setup in the arguments section insert noauth and try it again.

You can also try adding
Stupid Mode = yes
to wvdial.conf. If you still dont have any joy, try going to your isp's web page or ring them to see what the valid commands are once you get that prompt.
Excellent artical here That Tigeroc posted on another thread. Might help, has some good info on what happens when you connect
