I'm using Debian Sarge with the following email setup.
Mail travels in the following way
My pop account >>> fetchmail >>> procmail >>> spamassassin >>> procmail >>> exim >>> spool >>> sylpheed-claws
(at least I think that's what it's doing).
Everything works fine, but if I switch my computer off (which is normally when I go away for a few days) it seems that my exim starts spitting out messages to people or lists that have sent me emails.
They normally go something like:
Quote:
To: suse-linux-uk-schools-return-5391-me=mydomain.co.uk@suse.com
Subject: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
Message-Id: <E1ADBIr-0001ax-00@debian>

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software (Exim).
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

Is exim returning them because the original date that header is much older than when exim handles it? Is it possible to configure this to allow for a longer duration?
thanks in advance.
