Firefox - "the operation timed out when attempting to contact..."
Ok, this is kinda wierd. I am using mandrake 10 linux, with firefox as my browser. It works fine, some of the time, and really not great, other times. when it isn't going great, pages take a long time to load, and sometimes, i get a "the operation timed out when attempting to contact [website]" if i use [website] too much. it just gets stuck when i use things too much. Perhaps a buffer problem or something (lol im just making that up). Its wierd, because in linux, the web pages load slower than windows, yet, when i download something, it goes fast/faster than windows. I think it may be a firewall problem, but i don't know how to ajust the settings. I do have a router, maybe i need to forward some ports (but i don't have to in windows)?
Any advice would be appretiated.
