I recently installed debian 8, 64 bit, and here's my problem:
In gdm, everything is fine. In tty, everything is fine.
Once i'm logged into a desktop environment/window manager, any of them, the text shrinks to an unreadable size. I don't know where to go, what to check, what to edit, to fix it.
I tried reinstalling X but that yielded no results.

Very interesting!
Did you do a full "gui" install, or did you install Debian and then the gui and desktop package groups?
Have you checked that all of your proper fonts are installed?
Does this affect xterm sessions started in the GUI, or only the GUI text itself?
Searching google, there are a TON of pages related. IT is unclear what your real problem is so I cannot easily determine what fix might apply. Please add detail.
