Nvidia Drivers lost everytime I reboot?

Just recompiled kernel and installed the Nvidia drivers and all is well... but everytime I reboot its as if the drivers are "automatically uninstalled" because once it boots back up I have to reinstall the drivers off the Nvidia site for X to work again. I changed the XF86config section from "nv" to "nvidia" but i still loose the drivers upon rebooting. anybody got any ideas?

try editing /etc/modules and adding "nvidia" to the list of modules to be loaded at boot. this should work.
