No kernel sources

Hello,

I did a Lenny install and am trying to learn about kernel patching. I see that there are no kernel source directories in /usr/local/src. Where then do I patch my kernel?

Thanks,

ab

Thanks for your reply. I checked and there is nothing in /usr/src. The directory is empty...no linux directory:

aquamarine:/usr/src# ls -la
total 8
drwxrwsr-x 2 root src 4096 2007-11-19 10:21 .
drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 2008-05-13 17:03 ..

Did you install the linux-source package? You should And after that, you'd have to install the actual source itself by hand too... Perhaps you're better of by getting a fresh build from the guys at kernel.org, it might save you patching as it could have been done for you already
