Hi.

I just starting installing it to see... first I notice that link as solved? Then I got this (mind you under Debian\Sid:) http://s28.postimg.org/j4iubncdp/snapshot1.png and link from image, clicking on rar: http://www.rarsoft.com/ same link as my package manager: http://s11.postimg.org/m8v5rwdf7/Untitled.png ...

I have to leave for now but will use Krusader latter and see if anything useful pops up...

Best wishes and have fun!

Ok, no such luck here either... .zip and so on open in folder view as they should: http://www.krusader.org/documentation/archives.html
but .rar opens Ark? Krusader's forum:

... closest next thing I found: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...r/+bug/1065110 ...

Edit\add; I'm at:
Krusader
Version 2.4.0-beta3 "Single Step"
Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.2

Although Arc works fine.

rar and unrar are NOT opensource

they need to be bought ( $$$ )
or your OS has to have bought a license
some have like Opensuse and Ubuntu

Fedora DID NOT and will NOT !!!
but it "? can ?" be installed

7-zip can open rar's ( they have a license i think )
there is a rar plugin for 7-zip in file-roler

I don't see a GUI for p/7z and Linux... setting file-roller\others as my default just does the same as Arc from Krusader.

I'm one of the krusader developer, we are working at KDE Plasma 5 port; rar and 7z format browsing is on the todo list; due to change in the rar/unrar utilities, the data shown inside the package is not correct; the patch is trivial, but we have to check all the possible version of rar tools, otherwise prompt an "you rar utility version is not compatible".

We aim to relase new Krusader with 15.08 release, stay tuned

EDIT : patch for unrar 5.xx was pushed onto git
