Kmail error "Unable to Authenticate via. CRAM-MD5"

Ok, I am trying to configure sendmail so I can automatically send e-mails for topic reply notifications on my forums, or registration e-mails, and I started KMail so I could try and send an e-mail to myself, but I get an error.

When I start KMail it says:
Unable to authenticate via. CRAM-MD5
The server relpied.
Login Failed.

What do I need to do to fix this error?

CRAM-MD5 is a required mechanism for LDAP v3 server (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol ~ designed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for easy update and search network directories running over TCP/IP). When using the CRAM-MD5 mechanism, the server sends the client a request, the LDAP client sends the server an encrypted password using the MD5 encryption algorithm.
