HP Deskjet 2652 Scanner in Raspian

I have purchased a Raspberry PI 3+ with Raspian. I've gotten the printer to work, but not the scanner. I've installed xsane, but to no avail. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes, I'm a noob. I'm working on a Udemy class on Linux for Beginners. Haven't completed it yet, but have had the need to scan a couple of documents.

Tnx.

Is this a network-connected printer? Do you have a firewall running? (That might impact here for reaching a network device.)

Share the current printer URI
Code:
lpstat -t
The HPLIP hpaio scanner backend depends on having the correct HPLIP printer URI configured first.

It is a wireless printer.

lspstat -t gave me this:
system default destination: HP_DeskJet_2600_series
device for HP_DeskJet_2600_series: dnssd://HP%20DeskJet%202600%20series%20%5B693128%5D._ipp._tcp.local/?uuid=90bd2f77-2b19-5ac5-b248-05ad50ede3d1
HP_DeskJet_2600_series accepting requests since Tue 26 Nov 2019 04:35:21 PM EST
printer HP_DeskJet_2600_series is idle. enabled since Tue 26 Nov 2019 04:35:21 PM EST

Thanks. I appreciate you

I wondered where you had got to!

Anyway, it looks like you're not using the HPLIP driver for this device. That is required if you want scanner support using the hpaio driver (as already explained).

Read this blog guide for more information about getting that installed
https://www.ramoonus.nl/2017/05/21/i...-raspberry-pi/
then make sure to configure CUPS using the 'hp-setup' utility.
