how do you install xwindow

im trying to install x because i reinstalled linux what is the code

apt-get update && apt-get install xserver-xfree86

You may also want one of KDE, IceWM, Gnome... etc.

Check out macondo's sticky thread at the top of this forum -- it provides many helpful post-installation tips for new debian users.

EDIT:
Oops, you're not in the post-installation phase yet. To install X Window System, try "apt-get install x-window-system".
