help with deb package on Xandros 3.0

i'm running Xandros 3.0 box on my machine

since i heard Xandros is Debian based, however it seems i couldn't use any .deb packages on my machine, whenever i typed deb on shell window, i got a 'command not found' error.

am i missing something here?
