GUI to configure wireless


hi

I'm looking for a comfortable GUI to configure Wireless LAN on Wheezy.

Try wicd or nm-applet (I don't know if Wheezy runs NetworkManager by default, so possibly nm-applet might not work).

I run Debian and I couldn't tell you either. Install with the netinstall image. Gnome usually goes with NM. Xfce likes wicd. Not sure which Debian likes.

I like wicd. Lots of folks like NM. They both work and will do the job.

Default installs of wheezy have networkmanager, yes. I remove it to use wicd-gtk and wicd-curses, which are my preferred network management applications.

Thx, I have removed networkmanager, installed wicd and it seems to work well now.
