ok, so I messed up my permissons somehow, and seeing as how sarge just went stable, I downloaded the cd set at school. When I try to use the first cd to reinstall my system, it goes through all the steps up until loading the installer components. then it gets to 59%, and pauses at fdisk-udeb. This is a newly downloaded cd, and there are no scratches on it. However, my laptop was knocked off the table by a newfoundland dog(yes it's my dog, yes it's still living), so the CD drive may have sustained damage, however, I was able to boot knoppix and use it, so I don't think it's the cd drive. Thoughts?

come on people, no one knows? I guess I'll just see if someone can reburn me another CD. Perhaps just copying the CD will do it, if not, I'll see if I can get high speed somewhere

actually, would I be able to load the compnents off of a netinstall cd, then swap out the CDs once it's got all the components loaded?
