Exim startup script

Hi,

after installing Debian, I typed the command:

Quote:
update-rc.d -f exim4 remove
to avoid automatic start of this mail server (I use qmail).
After several months, I did a reboot and exim is started!

Looking at the history, I found this command:

Quote:
dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config
Maybe this command has restored the init script of exim?
Thankyou very much

Would have been done during the normal course of updates yes. Usually apt warns you that it's overwiting a locally modified config and gives you a choice, though I'm not sure if that's always the case.

If you don't use/need exim4 get rid of it. Also see this post at duf.org: http://www.debianuserforums.org/view...=7&t=962#p9377
