Desktop quem

So, I install sarge (I think) with the 2.4 kernel and upped to 2.6. After booting up I get to the debian loggin screen. In a drop down menu on the left I can choose what desktop to use (KDE, GNOME). Yesterday, I used synaptic to install a bunch of stuff for (and including) Enlightenment. How do I go about loading the desktop in Enlightenment? Thanks all

Hi,

I am using fvwm myself. There are chances that enlightement debian version puts a suitable option into session menu (as fvwm did indeed). If this is not the case, you may try with .xsession.

.xsession must reside in your home directory and be executable. Should be enough to put just one line into it:

enlightement

or what exactly is the start command for enlightement. You may also open xterms, xclocks and whatever, but before you actually start the window manager, you may choose window manager based on availability or something else. .xsession based sessions can be chosen in session menu as 'system default' or something like that.

best,

Ott
