debian packages to install a network printer


hi

I have a really minimal Wheezy installation without any packages for printig.
Which debian packages should be installed to add a network printer Xerox WorkCentre 7428?

Should already be there as apart of the minimal debian install.

Thx, but do I need samba client to add a network printer from ms windows print server?

I believe for samba you need to install the actual cups daemon(cups) and not just the cups-client package.


Here is a way you can figure it out:

Code:
dpkg -S /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb

apt-get install apt-file
apt-file update
apt-file search /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb

Thx a lot, but if I add a network printer using http://localhost:631/ where exactly these configurations are stored?
