Debian

I want to say, top shelf effort and good on you all for the
powerhouse that is Debian.

How many times have you tried some distro, only to find it soils
it's pants at every turn.

I know I have and I've also tried many distros...

All the Debian forks are frankly, a massive waste,
I've never felt right with Ubuntu and all the flash unstable
associated rip offs, try them and you'll find out yourself,
the best unstable is sid,
everything as small or as big as you want.

I don't say any of this lightly and I'm not interested in some
sort of pox distro warfare, but anyone that even likes playing
around with computers would hold the ol Debs in high regard.

My ideal would be a core net distro, such as Core,
where I can minimize my minimalist distro to be as minimal
as possible with the odd use of X running a rejigged free Ion
or Quark using source, obviously I love minimalism.

If anyone knows how to get quark working on debs,
I'd like to know thanks, as I'm a bit of an idiot, thanks
and the info for quark wont work for me.

Merry Christmas to everybody, keep pluggin away.
To the Debian, Slackware and Source users,
I have total admiration for all you gun legends,

Cheers...

General or Debian I think. On balance, since this is a "Debian rocks" post, I'm going to plump for Debian for the move.

Hit that one right on the head. They have morphed sudo into an all purpose root killer. Just too many things to list. *buntu is the furthest thing from Debian out there that is supposed to be a Debian fork. Shameful.
