I dont know what to do, i keep trying to give newer versions of Debian a try (Etch) but any installer that usses the 2.6 kernel for debian wont get past the part where it probes your hardware (right after the 3 first selections, for area, language, etc) It just hangs, and i think i saw it say it was loading a generic ide controller.
I use a adaptec AHA-2940U2B SCSI Controller. if i select a 2.4 kernel it works and i see it load some adaptec aic7xxx driver.
I Dont need this enough to live with a 2.4 kernel though, please tell me there is a way to get this to install?
I see there is boot options for SCSI cards, multiple adaptec options, but i have no idea which :/ it isnt like in Slackwear where all i had to do was run "adaptec.s" :/
