Hmm, so, it seems both Oracle and the Debian developers are to blame:
Debian, for some reason, have decided not to provide a package "python" but, instead, only provide python2[apparently now retired and deprecated?] or python3 as packages so anything dependent upon "python" will break.
However, in this case the Oracle people have been even more troublesome and required a version of python less than 2.7!!!.
Hopefully editing the dependency for Python out of the .deb file will fix this...
Edit: Sadly, this did not work. Virtualbox did install but I then received another error regarding permissions. Might be unrelated but tough to know,
