#

proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/fd0 /floppy vfat defaults,user,noauto,showexec,umask=022 0 0
usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 defaults,ro,user,noexec,noauto 0 0
/dev/cdrom1 /cdrom1 iso9660 defaults,ro,user,noexec,noauto 0 0
/dev/dvd /dvd iso9660 defaults,ro,user,noexec,noauto 0 0
/dev/cdaudio /cdaudio iso9660 defaults,ro,user,noexec,noauto 0 0
# Added by KNOPPIX
/dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 ntfs noauto,users,exec,ro,umask=000 0 0
# Added by KNOPPIX
/dev/hda6 none swap defaults 0 0
# Added by KNOPPIX
/dev/hda7 /mnt/hda7 ext3 noauto,users,exec 0 0

I don't have cdrw or dvdrw in my system, so I cannot help you there. The command "mcedit /etc/fstab" shows me this:

# /etc/fstab: static file system information
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/hda6 / reiserfs defaults 0 1
/dev/hda2 /win ntfs ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdc /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0

I use a special file manager (MToolsFM) to access floppies, but the simple command "mount /cdrom" gives me access to my CD-ROMs, so I expect that the entry in fstab is OK. My /win partition is WinXP and I have no problems in accessing this partition.

The command "mcedit /etc/group" shows that I'm a member in both "cdrom" and "floppy" groups. You can modify the groups you belong to with the "adduser" command (see the man page for more info).

Hope this helps.

PS. Perhaps some other Debian users who have cdrw or dvdrw (or both) could post their "fstab" and "group" here?
