I can't install openoffice from Sid, it wants to remove adesklets and I'm using adesklets so that's not an option. From what I can see this bug (python related) is not very new one. How can one know when to expect fix in repository ? Without molesting the maintainter, should it not be announced somewhere.
Everyone's psychic to one degree or another but I used google instead
Code:
[SIZE=-1]adesklets --kde
Yeah, I read that before and tried the new version. Unfortunately it only works is I turn off icons on my desktop.
I don't really use the icons except for a quick storage before filing but hate to lose that.
(Actually I got rid of my desktop folder and created a sys link to my home folder since that is where all my relevant data is anyways. That way all my home stuff show up there.)
Jackie, have you tried superkaramba? I've had some problems with superkaramba on flux and fvwm, that's why I turned to adesklets. Perhaps it's a bit more demanding on the system resources, but it's a great thingy to have up and running.
