Obviously the non-free repository.

Synaptic > Settings > Repositories > Other Software :
... Then mark "non-free".

Next : Use the Refresh button to update the package list.

... And now you can install 'flashplugin-nonfree'

.

Hi all,

Thanks for your advice. I got it installed.

This is a fresh-installed Debian using net-install ISO burned on USB
$ cat /etc/issue
Code:
Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 \n \l
source.list was incomplete. Only "deb http://ftp.hk.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main" there.

Now;
$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list
Code:
deb http://ftp.hk.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.hk.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free
What other repo I have to add?

Playing online video works but there is NO SOUND

alsamixer - all items at max
pavncontrol and alsa-utils installed.

Please help. TIA

I would at least add the security repo:
Code:
deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main

There is something wrong with the flash plugin in non-free. Maybe it's slightly outdated, but whatever it is: downloading the plugin from Adobe's website and installing it manually worked for me once, when the one in non-free would not.

I *think* it was just a matter of copying one of the files from the archive to one of the Mozilla directories (in /usr somewhere), but that computer is toasted now so I can't double-check it.

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Hardware acceleration always causes problems too. You can disable it in some control panel by right-clicking the video window.

Does sound work in other applications?
