Interesting! Did you want to tell us how you achieved this interesting result, or did you have a question?

If you have a question, would you like to share both the question and some of the diagnostic or configuration information so we might have some basis for an answer?

Hi OP, not much info provided so it's hard to guide you on this easily. onboot=yes means it will try to load the script and bring up the network but if there's an issue with the script then it will fail. You will see this in the bootup logs. Press an arrow key on the keyboard when it shows the loading bar and you can watch the messages.

Did you add or change network settings recently?

When you log in, do you get a desktop gui? I ask because the desktop gui has some additional tools built in that allow the network to come up so could be masking the underlying problem.

To troubleshoot this, you first need to find your interface name. Open a terminal and type "ip addr". You should see something like "eth0" or "eth1" or "enp6s0".

With that info, navigate to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
In that folder you have your interface startup scripts. The one you need is called "ifcfg-xxxx" where xxxx = the interface name.

While in that folder, you can run ifup ifcfg-xxx and it will try and load the script to bring up the interface. If you do that before enabling the network, it should tell you why it has failed.

Else post back here with:
1. the output of "ip addr"
2. The contents of the script matching the interface name

And if you can, surround your diagnostic information and configuration data with
