Small system

How can I download cAos with 56k dialup
and get a small text system set up on my
computer? Then I can add to this as I want.
This is the way I have being doing Slackware
and Debian. Can I set up cAos like this?

Yes. But the main installer is about 125Mb in ISO form. This will populate a small minimal file system, and allow you to use 'yum' to install the rest. For example, from a base install, you can install a base gnome-2.4 system by typing 'yum install gnome' or kde, apache, samba, mozilla, etc... in the same manner.

If you do a network install (preferred) you can select general package groups at install time.

You however can not do a network install via modem because the initrd does not have the dialup tools built in.

Lastly, don't do this quite yet. The dialup tools are still being integrated to the distro. I anticipate this will be resolved in a week or so. check back on this thread or the cAos mailing lists shortly.

Thanks greg. 125mb is a big download for dial-up.
Would take about 12 hours depending on connection
speed. I`m only on the internet for a couple of
hours a night. With Slackware I can download a few
packages every night until I have what I need.
Then I can set up a small system (40-45mb) and
add to it as I please. This is what I am looking for.
