Trying to install Bodhi but all it says is BOOT: . I do not know what to enter when it says BOOT: . sometimes it displays the 5 level menu
which is what I want so I can install it and also check the iso but I do not know what to do when it says BOOT:
When hitting enter it just says boot: again. The disk was made with k3b and verified 100%. I also verified it with the dd command and the checksum and both the checksum of the original iso file and the DVD came out exactly the same.
That message certainly doesn't come from GRUB. Maybe it comes from your firmware. Do you have a UEFI machine? And if you do, did you switch off secure boot and fast boot? Maybe you need to use legacy/csm mode as well. I just looked at the official Bodhi install instructions (https://www.bodhilinux.com/w/installation-instructions/) and they were definitely for a BIOS machine.
The machine is an ancient BIOS machine. I got it (no side cover) for $5 (the guy was going to give it to me for free) It had crushed up cigarette packs and junk in it (I guess they used it as a garbage can). It is 400 MHz 524 MB perfect for BODHI. New and clean 250 GB hard disk. Maybe the CDROM is not reading properly. Has a fairly new one in it. I used a CDROM cleaning disk that has a miniature brush on it to clean the lens. It use to have LXLE on it but I was unable to get the new version to install. I will fool around with it some more especially bios and try to look it up on the internet. Thanks for your help. I like the Old Lady.
I would also check in bios. Might be the new hard drive. I had one machine that wouldn't install anything unless the hard drive was exactly the same size as the original one and only Sata I or II - not Sata III.
