Talking The more I know the less I know I know

I'm just here to say hello. I've been using Linux for many years. First on an old PPC Mac, giving it a new lease of life (even had my hack to fix the video interface accepted my the kernel gurus - I think my name is still in there if you know where to look). At one stage I even managed to get my 68k Mac booting in to Debian (potato, I think).

Now I'm working on embedded systems, Centos, and AV32Linux - you can probably tell I'm a hands on hardware sort of guy. I trained as an electronics engineer, but software/firmware has always been a hobby and it has increasingly took over my working life. My first computer was an Acorn Atom. My first proper program was 6502 disassembler. Somewhere I still have a list of poke codes for a Commodore Pet.

I'm not a Guru, but I'm not a newbie either. I guess I'm like many people, I'm somewhere in between, and it will depend on what the question is and how much I've understood, etc. I'll try to help where and if I can, but I'm not expecting to be around all that often - things to do and money to earn, etc. Hopefully I give as much as I take.

That's me.
