ARM versatile kernels for QEMU [last update 2010-11-05]
WARNING: before downloading any of these binary kernels you should know that there is NO WARRANTY, you are using them AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
If you are paranoid: yes, I am untrusted source of binary packages, these kernels should only be used for testing purposes, you are adviced not to enable networking for qemu at all.
It is better that you fetch the config and build it yourself using cross-toolkit in your distro.
These binary kernels were tested in Gentoo Linux x86_64 qemu-system-arm, booting Gentoo Linux arm stage3, Fedora 12 arm rootfs, armedslack miniroot and armedslack-current initrd-versatile.img (the one containing setup) with no problems.
Initially these kernels were built using original sources from kernel.org.
This list isn't likely be usually updated, though, if I'll manage to ease the process of building and testing it, I will update this. Both of these were built right inside qemu, the process of building took from 2 to 2:50 hours with 256M ram (-m 256) and host CPU Intel Core i7 860 (2.8 GHz, SMP enabled). So, if you aren't aware yet: qemu is REALLY VERY slow even on good host. I was quite amazed myself when first tried it.
