Been a while ...
I have been occasionally active on the Ubuntu forums, mainly MythTV.
New devices have replaced some old ones:
QNAP 221 SAN, running debian.
BananaPi running debian for music with mopidy.
The NSLU2 devices are long gone. They were just too slow.
I found the QNAP firmware's front end to be pretty bloated, so I have installed debian on it. Otherwise the configuration is much the same as the original NSLU2 setup.
It is the ARM version. Would have preferred the Intel version, but the price difference was significant.
The ASUS Eee Box B202 is long gone, replaced by an ASROCK nettop, which itself is now quite under powered for handling the bloated state of the current day web.
The Mythbuntu machine is still running very well despite its age. The BIOS battery has just gone flat.
Given there has likely been a generation or two of technology change, I think an Intel NUC or similar will be the next step.
