There have been one or two changes since my first blog entry. Got a slightly used (ex-demo) laptop: an ASuS F5RL, with XP Pro already installed. First thing I did was resize it, not sure how long it's going to stay on. The first distro I tried on it was Ubuntu 8.04, which worked perfectly. That was just for testing. Slackware, my personal favourite (in case I haven't mentioned that already 
), went on next. To get on the 'net (wired) I had to get the atl2 module; I haven't got round to sorting out a wireless connection yet. Otherwise everything was OK. I'm using it as a second desktop so far.
