MenuMaker in Arch

I've used menumaker with fluxbox in some other distros. This enables me to right-click the root window with mouse and I get a menu for launching installed applications. In Arch this doesn't appear to work very well, perhaps because Arch installs by default lots of apps under /opt . So I was wondering if there is a way to tweak menumaker so that it would look for apps installed in places where Arch likes to put them?

hello. if you think that the problem is the PATHS then you can try
./configure --help | less
and pray that the configure script of menumaker will give you the ability to change some paths. But are you sure that the path is the problem?

It may be that this is more a flaw in MenuMaker's detection mechanism than anything Arch specific. It's just a bit annoying that MenuMaker cannot detect my most often used desktop applications (Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird & OpenOffice) and I need to edit menus manually. The whole idea of using MenuMaker was to not have to edit menus manually. Oh, well.
