bash: make: command not found

Trying to install yaourt on a new Arch install. Got it downloaded and untarred, cd to yaourt directory, and did make. Got this:

Code:
bash: make: command not found
I'm new to Arch, this is my first installation of it, so I assumed I had screwed something up in the install. I went back through the entire installation process, using the ArchWiki guide. This time I was super picky about following their instructions to the letter, in case I did something wrong the first time. But it still hangs at make.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

db
